James Maddison is who Leicester need to replace City-bound Mahrez

sbobet asian What’s the story?
The former Coventry and Aberdeen star has been in terrific form this season, averaging a goal every other game in the Championship. The England U21 international had a hand in 22 goals in 44 games for a rejuvenated Norwich side under Daniel Farke.Norwich have slapped a price-tag of £20million on their star asset, a fee that is not likely to put off Leicester in the wake of Mahrez’s purported £60m move to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

The deal is being greeted with a tremendous amount of excitement from Foxes’ fans in what has been a terrific start to the transfer window. The early signing of £17.5m Porto full-back Ricardo Pereira, as well as activating the £3m relegation release clause in Jonny Evans’ West Brom contract, both show terrific value.

What will he bring to the King Power?
sbobet asian  Leicester have become somewhat synonymous with direct, attacking football in recent years, and the signing of the English youngster would go in-line with that style.A direct attacking-midfielder, who uses his vision and movement to free up space for himself, has earned comparisons with Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley. He does not possess the same turn of pace that Barkley holds, but counteracts this with terrific vision, racking up eight assists in a struggling Norwich side.

If Leicester are to keep the same style of play, he would represent a tactical addition. As well as his growing reputation, his ability to to dovetail out to the wing would free up space for Leicester’s other England U21 star, Demarai Gray. On paper, this represents the sort of deal that Leicester want to be pursuing, despite the fact the Englishman is unproven at Premier League level.

Many Leicester fans expected to see the club targeting players of the same ilk as Stoke City’s Xherdan Shaqiri and Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend, but it seems the Midlands club’s owners are now targeting a long-term project in an attempt to push themselves back into the upper-echelons of the Premier League. The biggest question on Leicester fans’ lips will now be whether Maddison can make the step-up to the Premier League, and adequately replace the outgoing Algerian star. sbobet asian
